They are 8% not Humans - meaning Neanderthal and Denisovans are 8% of their DNA - 2% Neanderthal and 6% Denisovan and the rest is Homo sapiens sapiens.
They have been in Australia longer than Homo sapiens sapiens have been in Europe.
They never left the Stone Age - and mostly do not even use stone but used wood tools and wood weapons because the stones here are not suitable to be used - there is little flint and Chert here.
They never domesticated any animals - other than the dog / dingo as did all humans.
There was no animals here that were suitable for agriculture - no goats, cattle or horses or camels or llamas or alpacas.
So for 50,000 years they remained in the Stone Age and remained cannibals slaughtering each other and babies and half the women.
Mean while in Europe, when the climate changed because of the Italian Volcano, the Neanderthals were all but wiped out and Homo sapiens sapiens took over 35,000 years ago and left the Stone Age and entered the Bronze Age and then the Iron Age because there was flint and chert and suitable animals to domesticate.
So 50,000 years of doing nothing until Cook arrived and brought what the Romans gave us:

The Romans are all bastards, they have bled us 'till we're white, they've taken everything we've got as if it was their right, and we've got nothing in return though they make so much fuss, what have the Romans ever done for us?
What have the Romans, what have the Romans, what have the Romans ever done for us?
The aqueduct. What? ...they, they gave us the aqueduct...
Yes, they did give us that, that's true And sanitation Yes, that too The aqueduct I'll grant is one thing the Romans may have done And the roads, now they're all new And the great wines too
Well, apart from the wines and fermentation, And the canals for navigation Public health for all the nation Apart from those, which are a plus, what have the Romans ever done for us? What have the Romans, what have the Romans, what have the Romans ever done for us?
The baths. What? ...the public baths... Oh, yes, yes...
The public baths are a great delight, and it's safe to walk in the streets at night. Cheese and medicine, irrigation, Roman law and education the circus for our delectation and the gladiation
Well, apart from medicine, irrigation, health, roads, cheese and education, baths and the Circus Maximus, what have the Romans ever done for us?
What have the Romans, what have the Romans, what have the Romans ever done for us?
Brought peace. Oh, shut up!
