Generally ... the budget has been well received. More pressure on Shorten's Labor. Being called a "Labor Budget" ... Higher taxes and big spending. Interesting to see how this one is received. The method for first home buyers to add more salary sacrifice into their super funds to save for a deposit seems to have some merit. A nice deal for oldies to "downsize" and dump lots of money into their super funds. A pretty hefty increase in the tertiary education fee rates and lower wage rates before repaying kicks in ... that one could be hard for the COALition to sell. Most working people will have to fork out more on the Medicare levy. Lots of infrastructure spending. Overall - it seems like it might give the COALition a chance to improve their standing in the polls ... (except for the tertiary education bits) those are going to be a problem for them. Not too sure about the random drug tests for welfare recipients either. If the polls start to turn (yes, that's a big "if") ... what will Labor do about Shorty?

Its not a Labor budget as in amongst all the similarities is a hidden agenda thats contrary....its Liberalism by stealth. True. Some are making the point however, that it is "Labor lite" because it is a typically high taxing, high spending budget. (Then again, Howard was the master of high taxing, high spending until he blew the surplus on middle-class welfare.) I reckon the part about this budget that the COALition supporters will like is that it pretty much neutralises the Mediscare campaign and funds the NDIS. As for the increase in the Medicare levy being "unfair" ... pfft ... the GST is a set percentage for all ... rich and poor. We don't have a sliding scale of GST rates ... it is just 10% across the board. To Argue that the medicare levy should effectively have a different rate for some is nonsense. Shorty is clutching at straws.

True enough NDIS is already funded as most care organisations are already on the scheme....as it should be as when care people organisations can get to disabled people early enough (care from birth to death) lives can be greatly changed for the better with the opportunity to live their own lives early on rather than being trapped at home until they are say in their 20's, it does have to be ongoing funding at to keep it going....so in effect Labor is being playing silly buggers.

Yep.
Shorty is clueless.
I'm kind of hoping the next few Newspolls show a pick up for the COALition, it will be a big wake up call to Labor.
